HZI Ferrybridge EfW plant
Services
Located at the former Ferrybridge Power station, Knottingley, the project aim was to process and treat 675,000 tonnes of waste (per year) derived from various sources such as municipal solids, commercial, industrial, and waste wood.
The plant generates a net of 68MW of electricity to the National Grid, producing enough energy to power over 165,000 homes. Combined, the FM1 and FM2 facilities in Ferrybridge are capable of diverting over 1.3 million tonnes of waste from landfill annually.
The Walker Sime team worked with HZI, providing strategic programming, dispute management services and commercial support in the management of their subcontracts.
