James Jennings

James joined the Walker Sime board as a Non Executive Director in 2015. James is the co-founder of The Strategy Exchange, a consultancy providing strategy and corporate development services to businesses, groups and investors.

He brings a wealth of experience to the Walker Sime board accumulated from a career spent in industry and professional services and spanning a wide range of markets, including tour operating, financial services, cruise-lines, pub retailing, hospitality, food manufacturing, professional sport and insurance.

James lives with his wife in the Forest of Bowland and when not strategising, helps his wife make award winning curds and marmalades. He plays golf extraordinarily badly, watches rugby enthusiastically and loves driving a fork-lift-truck.

Prior to co-founding the Strategy Exchange,  James served as Group M&A Director for Thomas Cook plc, and as Group Strategy Director at MyTravel Group plc.  He has also been CEO and Chairman of Sale Sharks, a director of Premier Rugby Limited and NED at Old English Inns plc and Genesis Restaurants. James qualified as a Chartered Accountant in the days before excel spreadsheets.
