Walker Sime and Planit-IE Win Annual Liverpool Dragon Boat Race

Walker Sime are absolutely delighted to announce that we, alongside Planit-IE, won the Liverpool annual dragon boat race!

After two heats and winning both including setting the fastest time in heat one we suddenly found ourselves lying 7th with one race to go. We had to make it into the top four and found ourselves up against Peel!

A very close race ensued, but the rhythm and team work of the Walker Sime/Planit-IE boat got us over the line with the second fastest time of the day and got us into the final.

The final consisted of a straight race with 4 boats. At the halfway stage we were last, then with an amazing herculean effort we pulled back and edged into the front with 15 metres to go crossing the line first!

We are now current reigning dragon boat champions in Liverpool thanks to the hard work and tenacity put in by all of the team members. Well done to all, you have done both Walker Sime and Planit-IE proud.

All of the proceedings for the race are going to Claire House Hospice for children, where they help seriously and terminally ill children live life to the full by creating wonderful experiences and bringing back a sense of normality to family life. By providing specialist nursing care and emotional support they help families smile again when life couldn’t get any tougher.
