We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team. This role presents a unique opportunity to lead a significant £70M project associated with high-tech manufacturing for a prestigious client. This project, situated in a process-intensive environment, is in the Implement Phase and focuses heavily on process equipment development. We are looking for a project manager with a proven track record in process environments, including experience in nuclear, high-tech manufacturing, petrochemical, or oil and gas sectors. 

 Job Description: 

As a Senior Project Manager at Walker Sime, you will take on a pivotal role in overseeing a £70M project that is critical to our client’s business. This project demands a seasoned project site delivery professional who is well-versed in working within process-intensive environments.  Key Responsibilities: 

• Project Leadership: Assume overall responsibility for the project’s successful delivery, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, and timeline objectives. 
• Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure project success and alignment with strategic goals. 

• Process Equipment Development: Oversee the development and implementation of process equipment, emphasizing efficiency, quality, and safety. 
• Risk Management: Identify and proactively address project risks, implementing strategies to mitigate issues that could impact project outcomes. 
• On-site Presence: Maintain a full-time presence on-site, ideally four days per week, in Royston, Hertfordshire, providing on-the-ground leadership and oversight of project activities. 
• Budget and Resource Management: Effectively manage project budgets, allocate resources, and closely monitor expenditures to ensure financial objectives are met. 

• Reporting and Documentation: Provide regular project status updates, reports, and documentation to internal teams and stakeholders. 

 Qualifications: 

• Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager in process-intensive environments, with a preference for experience in nuclear, high-tech manufacturing, petrochemical, or oil and gas sectors. 
• Strong leadership and project management skills, evidenced by a successful track record of delivering complex projects on schedule and within budget. 

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective collaboration with diverse teams. 
• Proficiency in process equipment development and implementation. 
• Adept at risk management principles and strategies. 
• Willingness and availability to commit to a full-time presence on-site, with a preference for four days per week in Royston, Hertfordshire. 
• Relevant project management certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, etc.) are advantageous.
