Project Background:
In the heart of Northumberland, we’re investing in the future of high-tech manufacturing and innovation. This £85.6 million capital investment program involves two pivotal projects on the premises of an elite technology and innovation centre:
- New Large-Scale Test Facility: This exciting endeavour includes the development of a state-of-the-art test facility with all necessary ancillary structures and services.
- Expansion of Current Test Facilities: We’re taking the existing test facilities to the next level by boosting power supply, test bench motor capacity, grid emulation capacity, cooling systems, and related components.
Role Responsibilities:
As a Senior Project Manager, you will play a key role in the successful execution of this groundbreaking project. Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Project Leadership: Take the helm in managing and guiding the development program through RIBA stages, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with our esteemed partners, clients, and internal teams, fostering effective communication and alignment.
- Resource Management: Efficiently allocate resources, both human and material, to meet project objectives.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain the highest standards of quality and compliance throughout all phases of the project.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential project risks to ensure a smooth project progression.
- Budget Oversight: Keep a keen eye on financial matters, ensuring that the project remains within budgetary constraints.
- Reporting and Documentation: Provide clear and concise project updates and reports.
Experience Required:
To excel in this role, you should bring the following experience and skills:
- Proven experience in project management within the development, manufacturing, and high-tech facilities sectors.
- Familiarity with concept design through construction on existing brownfield sites.
- A track record of successfully guiding projects through RIBA stages.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- An ability to adapt and excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Location and On-Site Commitment:
Our project is based in Blyth, Northumberland. While we offer a flexible working arrangement that allows for remote work, we anticipate the need for three days on-site per week, depending on the project’s stage and requirements.
