The Role:
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor in our Bills of Quantities Team, you will report to the Associate Director and play a pivotal role in producing Bills of Quantities and Detailed Builder’s Quantities. Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with the Associate Director to coordinate the Bill Production Team.
- Measuring and billing work items in accordance with client’s measurement preferences.
- Allocating tasks to quantity surveyors, agreeing on deadlines.
- Collaborating with fellow Bill Production team members to meet project timelines.
- Engaging with Walker Sime’s contractor clients.
- Preparing and issuing query sheets as needed during the measurement process.
- Monitoring project progress and reporting to the Associate Director regularly.
- Managing addenda information received during the measurement and billing process.
- Collating and performing initial QA checks on Bill Sections.
- Issuing Bills of Quantities/Detailed Builder’s Quantities to our contractor clients.
- Ensuring all bill measurement-related data, including measurements and marked-up drawings, are appropriately stored.
- Advising the Associate Director on necessary amendments post QA checks.
- Assisting in the development of computer-aided measurement systems, such as CostX and Navisworks.
About You:
We’re seeking an individual who:
- Is a BQ expert with extensive experience.
- Has a strong desire to continue in a BQ-focused role.
- Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excels in working efficiently under tight deadlines.
- Has comprehensive knowledge of SMM7 & NRM2.
- Knowledge and experience with CESSM4 (preferable but not essential).
- Knowledge and experience with MMHW (preferable but not essential).
- Has experience with CostX, ConQuest, CATO, Q-Script, or similar.
- Is experienced with Bluebeam.
- Has used Navisworks/Revit both generally and for quantification.
- Ideally, has experience in team management, but it’s not a deal-breaker.
