Walker Sime sign up to the RICS Conflict Avoidance Pledge.

RICS Conflict Avoidance

While claims and disputes do, of course, occasionally arise on projects, Walker Sime is fully committed to help prevent escalation – avoiding the pain of unnecessary delays, costly distractions and even potential litigation. That’s why we’re proud to have signed-up to the RICS Conflict Avoidance Pledge.

The financial cost of construction sector disputes runs into £billions and can have a hugely negative impact on the reputation of businesses and high-profile construction projects. RICS is committed to helping organisations through early intervention and collaboration to avoid costly disputes that might otherwise end up in court.

Mark Bond, our Director of Quantity Surveying for Infrastructure, has led our commitment and proudly signed-up Walker Sime to the Pledge earlier this year. He’s confident it’ll make a big difference on the projects we manage, which range from large scale infrastructure commissions and landmark construction and regeneration projects, to a wide range of smaller boutique-type projects.

Mark comments, “Signing the pledge is an acknowledgment that Walker Sime will always aim to resolve disputes early and amicably with a positive commitment to delivering projects on time, in budget and without conflict. And with #PositivePeople being central to our core values, I couldn’t get a pen in my hand quick enough to sign!”
