Walker Sime Recognised Among Region’s Best at Coveted Property Awards

Walker Sime, the Manchester-based construction consultancy, has further cemented its place among the best in the region after being named as a finalist in the Consultancy / Planning Team of the Year category of the Insider North West Property Awards 2021.

The awards, organised by Business Insider, showcase those companies that are shaping the property sector in the region.

To reach the prestigious awards ceremony, held at Manchester Central on 21 October, the company had to show that it had made a real impact on the region’s commercial property sector, demonstrating its ability across a wide range of commercial sectors and disciplines.

Walker Sime highlighted its role in three local projects. The company is project manager for Manchester’s Civic Quarter Heat Network, an initiative which will cut carbon emissions from many of the city’s most iconic buildings, including Manchester Central. Appropriately, the energy centre and Tower of Light – the project’s signature developments  –  sit just outside the award ceremony venue.

The £100 million New Victoria development is delivering 520 new apartments in 450,000 sq ft of residential accommodation in an exciting city centre location. And the OnSide Youth Zone is a £5m development in Gorton creating sporting, artistic, cultural, physical and recreational facilities for the local community.

Over the past two decades, the annual Insider North West Property Awards has acknowledged the people and businesses involved in property development schemes across the North West. Judged by an independent panel of experts, the awards are recognised as a benchmark for success and a much-coveted recognition of achievement from other leading industry professionals.
